where are your memories?

I caught a lecture today on how the brain learns, i happened to be the only one there for the first 30 mins so the lecturer and i just chatted about more interesting stuff, he mentioned something i hadn’t heard before, well actually a lot of stuff, but this was of particular interest. He suggested that people’s memories were not neccisarily all stored in the brain, and that they may have something to due with microtubules found in nerves and their connecting tissue. Proof being that people that have received organ transplants actually find themselves having memories they dont remember
having (<-what?) and when they could actually link the memories to the organ’s original owner. We also went into some pretty crazy quantum physics, if you are new to such things, it basically takes all common sense and throws it out the window, but in a more mysterious fashion.
