debian linux didnt install any kind of window manager propperly, so i started installing suse, which seemed to pick up my hardware better, then the install died due to a power failure. go figure, the first one in months right in the middle of the install. which was going really slowly cuz i was installing of an ftp - the net conn was too crapppy to dl the cds, not that that wokred any better. off to home depot to look for case building materials.

    Use Debian. Get Gnome 2.6. Make sure to install x11. ass.
