I would think the F22 could do that too. And the F18.

FA/22 (Raptor)can turn only as fast as the pilot. But they could have made the trip from Panama City in about 3 minutes.

maybe the f22(raptor), but the fa18, ? f16 has held its status becasue of how light it is, and the fact that it is basically all a jet engine. with a pilot strapped to it. donut to whomever finds out.

sorry to inform you the fastest fighter jet is the MIG 25, cabable of Mach 2.8, about 3,000 mph. The fastest jet is the SR-71 Blackbird, speeds in excess of Mach 3. I will have a chocolate frosted.

well, the top speed of the f22 has never been released that i know of, and jsut because the others have a higher top speed doesnt mean they can vertically accelerate. thats tough to do.

the F22 has the same engines as the F16's the only difference is that they have thrust vectoring - which gives them more maneuverability , not more speed, as you can see by it's Mach 1.8 capability

the question, and donut have nothign to do with top speed, they have to do with acceleration, the question was wether or not the raptor and hornet could vertically accelerate like the lighter f16
