The other theater patrons were probably not pleased. But how often is a book more popular than the Celestial Home Care Omnibus, better selling than Fifty More Things to do in Zero Gravity,

and more controversial than Oolon Colluphid’s trilogy of philosophical blockbusters Where God Went Wrong, Some More of God’s Greatest Mistakes and Who is this God Person Anyway? made into a movie?

Who cares anyway? Even if it was the most remarkable book ever to come out of the great publishing houses of Ursa Minor.

oh great, another movie based on a book so elitist ‘readers’ can gripe about how they ruined the book. get used to it - it happens EVERY time.

Oh, I’m sure it will. HHG is great 1/4 due to plot, 3/4 due to diction. And you can’t reproduce writing style in a movie. Same reason the BBC tv series based on it failed. That and a low budget.

It’s just not readily transferable to another medium. You lose too much. The BBC radio series wasn’t bad though. Still, I’m eager to see them try, especially with a hollywood budget.

wasnt even that great of a book. was only liked by people because it made them feel special that they had read it. LOTR- now that was literature. HHG has same appeal Rocky Horror does.
