because yes this chmods your .. dir too. which is ‘/’
which effectively cuts off access to EVERYTHING.
and when it is 3AM you are tired and have tennis in a few minutes. you forget what sort of impications such things have.

so thank you to all of those that sent me the little updates on my site that i was furiosly beating my head and tearign my heair out to get back up, hoping i wouldnt need a reinstall and to bug my colo guy - but it is now up and running again. now to see what else i screwed up trying to fix it…

but hey, at least i fixed it.
