don’t you remember - we had one of those locks on the garage door in Maine - the release button was in the kitchen. That is also how the lock worked on the door to the head in Manteo - hooked up to the puter so I could program anyone in/out, time of day, etc.
your system used magnetic cards as i can recall, these are rfid, way cooler. you wouldnt have to take it out of your wallet to use. and the morons cant put it in upside down backwards sideways either, it works at all angles.
there were 3, (three), trois, tres, tre, drei, types of cards - one was the type that you had to actually INSERT into the card reader, one was the type you had to PLACE ON THE PAD, (which was the one I had), and the other type available for that system was called a PROXIMITY READER, which is the one you are talking about. I didn’t get those as I didn’t want the door opening as someone passed by - leaving it vulnerable to non-patrons
