check your credit card bills.

i just logged on to my capital one credit card account and noticed a charge that i definitely didn’t authorize, further investigation read: google ;-) turned up this. apparently it is a credit card fraud (take that page rank!) scheme that is affecting hundreds, if not more, people. that particular card has been inactive for many months, so the possibility of the number getting passed at a restaurant or something is low. once at their website, you get a blatant “what is KCSOFTLLC.com billing me for?” link that is just a data mining form without and verification on it. anyway, its a total scam, the amount was for 9.95. seems like they last hit in aug/sept and now again march/june as there is a periodicity to the complaints. worth a good scan of the activity.

This KCSOFTLLC.COM scam is STILL being used. I got scammed today, this scam is OVER 3 years old already, can’t anyone stop them?

I got scammed by KCSOFTLLC.COM today. A $9.95 Money Order charge at 3pm EST from Rochester, NY (I live in WASHINGTON). BEWARE, BEWARE!

Just noticed a $9.95 charge to my Visa card dated 11/30/07 from KCSOFTLLC COM . I did not make any charges that day. Unbelievable that this credit card fraud can go on for years and years.

I had a fraudulent charge of $9.95 from kcsoftllc.com show up on my Visa card. The transaction was dated 11/19/2007.

I cannot believe how our law enforcement agencies can allow these thieves to operate for such a long time with total impunity. No doubt this is an organized crime operation and not some punk teenager messing around.

I cant believe this is such an old scam! I got charged $9.95 by them today (02-19-08) on my debit visa. They must have stolen so much money already. I tried to go on the website, but i guess its no longer working. I dont know how they are still doing this.

I have to thank all of you for posting your comments! Without them I may have never known that this was a scam. I noticed today 06-05-08 that there was a charge of 9.95 from KCSOFTLLC with a phone number. Of course the phone number did not work. So I looked up KCSOFTLLC on the internet and found all the people that also are victims. I was able to get the bank to cancel the check card immediately so that no further charges will be tagged on. I have found also that we are going to be forced to use check and debit cards more so now than in the past - everyday I see new establishments that are no longer accepting checks. What a field day for the scammers.

I just got hit too. Thanks for the posts. I didn’t even bother to call the company thanks to you all, just my CC.

Can you believe these jokers are still pulling this same stunt and our incompetent law enforcement agencies do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to shut them down?

I wrote to the Attorney General about this incident when it happened and got back a polite reply telling me “it’s not THEIR problem” - in so many words. I also wrote the Secret Service who I understand has jurisdiction on these matters, and they thanked me for telling them probably what they already know, and most likely tossed my letter in the garbage can. Makes you wonder how many people get charged and dismiss it as something they ordered but forgot about. I almost did this figuring my son, who sometimes uses my credit card, had bought something over the internet.

They need to set up a national academy to teach law enforcement agents how to track and arrest these criminals. As it stands now, law enforcement is WAY behind on the learning curve and these crooks are more than happy to exploit either their inability to stop/catch them or simple indifference to these crimes.

I was really glad to come across your post today. It really helped me make sense of some of the issues I was having with the subject. The points you make in this post are excellent/brilliant. I really find this an concerning topic.

    Thanks and best of luck!

I was charged $9.95 on my bank account & I did not order or require the services of KCSOFTLLC. I do not have their e-mail address & the phone number I located is no longer in service -509-461-1556. I will go to my bank today & if you have a e-mail address or a correct phone number, pleas advise. I am contracting the attorney General of Texas & the Better Business Bureau.

  13. 13 Kris M

Carol, I wouldn’t waste your time trying to email or contact anyone at KCSOFTLLC, and I would just pursue this with your bank and get them to refund your money. I can’t believe these people are STILL pulling this same stunt on people! This company has been doing this since at least 3 or 4 YEARS now. I contacted the US Attorney General and my local Congressional Senators and Reps. and they all told me more or less that it was not THEIR problem (to investigate and/or prosecute - that it wasn’t THEIR jurisdiction, etc.). I went through the trouble of writing them and sending them copies of my statements, etc., but all they could say is what a shame and too bad. I hope you have better luck with the Texas AG.

One has to wonder how many times people are too busy or whatever to notice this charge for $9.95 on their statements (or dismiss it as I almost did, as something my son must’ve charged on my credit card) and these crooks at kcsoftllc.com get to spend the fruits of their insidious little scheme against mankind…??

I got hit twice — first for $2.95 and later for $9.95. My credit card is with USAA and when I talked to the fraud department they claimed no knowledge of any problem with this firm. Today their representative told me that in almost every case, the customer has inadvertently authorized the charge while using the Internet. I find this hard to believe. Have canceled my credit card after subsequently getting small charges from two other unknown merchants — I think they’re sharing the rubes’ numbers.

Visa card-National City bank. Today is March 08 2009

    Got the same charge.
03/09/2009 VISA CHECKCARD DB-POINT OF SALE
KCSOFTLLC COM ROCHESTER NY Debit $9.95

At least four years and still counting…. You would think/hope that our law enforcement agencies would have investigated and shut down these sneaky crooks by now, but I guess they’ve got bigger fish to fry [like that scoundrel Bernie Made-off (with billions of dollars and is living the high life in his penthouse apartment)]. I wish Obama would open up a new branch of law enforcement dedicated to catching these sneaky SOB’s….

  17. 17 Claude

Same thing here. KCsoftllc.com $9.95. But in my case, Bank of America fraud department called me, before accepting the charge. So at least some banks are aware this is a scam.

  18. 18 MICHELLE

I FOUND A CHARGE TO KCSOFTLLC.COM FOR $9.95 ON MY ONLINE BANK STATEMENT. THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNAUTHORIZED AND I AM CONTACTING MY BANK. THIS IS SCARY. WHY ISN’T SOMEONE STOPPING THESE CROOKS! HOW DO YOU KEEP FROM IT HAPPENING AGAIN!!

  19. 19 Jim

I just discovered a $9.95 charge from these bloodsuckers on my Master Card. Fortunately, the credit card company alerted me and cancelled my old card and issued a new one.

  20. 20 Tony

I was hit today for $9.95. I am very pissed. I would like to find these people myself! Just 9.95 but it could of been much more. The transaction happen on Fri at 8pm and is set to be cleared Monday. I call my bank to lock out my check visa card. I already know its gonna be a fight to get this charge stopped. ABNBFCU by the way. Credit Bureaus and Banks big trouble. I’m so disgusted with both of them rite now.

  21. 21 Tim

In doing my taxes for ‘08 (sorry), I just noticed a repeat charge for $9.95 from the scamsters kcsoftllc.com - the first one occurred last year and reversed last June, Called B of A and the first agent said that since the charge was more than 60 days old, they couldn’t do anything about it. They transferred me to another agent who ‘made me happy’ by agreeing to reverse the charge. I noted to her that B of A is aware of these guys (see Mar 17 post here). I have a new cc# now (as of 1/09), and haven’t noticed any other kcsoftllc.com charges, but the year is young.

  22. 22 customer

I just told B of A my kcsoftllc.com charge. So any idea on how these companies get your number in the first place?

  23. 23 Kris

I seemed to remember clicking on an ad for some type of amazing lightbulb that lasted “forever” or something shortly before noticing the charge on my credit card… It was quite a while ago, and I don’t remember if I filled out any personal information before getting off the link… Does anyone else remember doing this?

I hope that the Obama administration establishes some kind of task force to go after these scammers and starts to make “examples” out of these guys, because up til now, it seems they can carry out this scam indefinitely without any repercussions for them. At least four years now and counting and they STILL haven’t shut them down…

I wrote to my state senators here in Alabama and got back a nice and polite (but totally USELESS) reply from Jeff Sessions and Robert Shelby telling me basically that there was NOTHING they could do about it. I also wrote to the US Attorney General who I believe referred me to the Secret Service. I faxed a whole bunch of information to them and apparently they probably just threw the stack of papers I sent them in the trash…. ho hum…

  24. 24 Victim1234

I was just victimized by KCSOFTLLC last week. They have been doing this for 4 years now based on reviews above. Give me a break. This has wasted hours of my time to have accounts and pay online bills changed. I am sick that our government has done a single thing about this for 4 years. It even makes me sicker that the banks just go along here and charge us fees to issue new cards and numbers.

I think the banks are invloved in this too.

  25. 25 onceagain

they hit my phone bill for fourteen cents. earlier they got my credit card for $9.95 and had to get a new card issued.

  26. 26 julia

I just got hit. This is the first time, I go over my bills each month for charges that are not mine. I guess I will have to get a new card.

  27. 27 Janet

I just got hit!!! June 28, 2009! I cannot believe these people! There is a charge on my debit card for $9.99. I am so glad that I found this website. How can they operate like this with impunity!!! I just cancelled my accounts! This is such a hassle and all because some *******!!!
