fixing the might mouse

well, after having used Apple’s new mighty mouse for a few hours, i can say there are some things i like and some things i really don’t like.

best part of this mouse is the hardware, worst is the software. wow!

the most useful feature of my old kensington mouse was that i could bind actions to the buttons, and actions to a button sequence. like if i hit both the left and right buttons, it would tell itunes to play the next track in the playlist. nice to not have to switch apps to not listen to this damn song AGAIN… and my thumb-button was of course a browser back button. this was all done by adding a keystroke to a button.

the only binding you can do, as far as i can see, on the mighty mouse, is to an application.

so i had to write a little application for next track and browser back. i know, weak.

fix this apple!

here is an archive of the scripts and apps, try them out if you like. really poor solution, kinda slow, and opens in the dock..boo… but better than not having them.

I didn’t think you still used a mouse. Those things are so 2004…..
