the first one is supposedly a superbowl commercial. either way, its funny.
K-Fed
the second it related to last week’s mooninites news, for all of you who don’t know who they are.
yeah, put ‘em on the glass
I thought this was pretty hilarious. Apparently blinking lights and middle fingers give some people a good scare.
Try out any of the links from google news
Highways, bridges and a section of the Charles River were shut down and bomb squads were sent in before authorities declared the devices were harmless. It’s a hoax - and it’s not funny,” said Gov. Deval Patrick. Turner Broadcasting, parent company of Cartoon Network, said the devices, which consisted of magnetic, blinking lights, were part of a promotion for the TV show “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.”
[updated] looks like engadget picked up the story too…
josh has recently been cleaning out his toy box of all the junk he no longer uses or wants. from old textbooks to old ram it all got listed on ebay. the only thing that has caused problems is his PSP. the first time it sold and the guys account “was hacked” and “he did not place the bid” so it went up again. this time within minutes the auction closed with the buy it now, shortly after that was the email….
Josh yelled to me as i was messing around with my new toy… i came in, read that and said SCAAAAMMM. So i said, let’s play along, this should prove to be entertaining. I convinced josh to send an email back telling the buyer that was fine and that he should send payment and details. Next came the payment confirmation:
Obviously this fraudulent payment did not show up in his paypal account but still, it looks legit enough for us, josh sent him a note saying thank you and that he would ship tomorrow using the guy’s fedex account and would email the tracking info so he could receive his payment.
But first we have to package up the psp. pulling from the rather famous p-p-p-powerbook scam a while ago that hit the sa forums we decided to have a bit of fun with the guy.
henry, enjoy your new psp:
and hoping to inflate the shipping costs that the guy may or may not be paying (leaving the option that the guy stole the fedex acct number too) and to more accurately reflect the weight of a REAL psp we added some delicious vegetables to the package (for free).
im not too sure about what the import taxes are in nigeria, but it will probably be the last time he tries to scam josh….
the worst part is this will be the THIRD time listing the psp.
[update] - that is a random internet ass. it is not indicative of anyone’s ass who was involved with this operation.
those crazy kids from postgorilla are debuting their latest creation:
its a neat little website that allows you to create and maintain a resume online and email/fax/mail it in many different formats quite conveniently.
well that might sound kinda neat, but once you explore the site, you see how WAY overboard they went on making use of the latest in html/php/css/javascript/ajax technologies.
the site is really, really impressive from a technical standpoint, and im sure they have more in the works. so please go set up and account, poke around a bit and submit your comments the the feedback link at the top to help improve the site for everyone else.
also, remind gavin to wash his car.
i like the idea; promoting web standards and involving the word naked. both good ideas.
well, maybe ill add the code and get naked next year…
this might be old but… max sent it to me, and neither of us had seen it. thanks UD..
max sent me this article, its pretty interesting; talks about how much worse the new hybrids are for the environment, maybe some of these tree hugging liberals can now stop whining at how GM needs to be more like toyota. gm’s cars are actually not as bad for the environment as some hybrids. many people don’t realize the environmental ramifications of the lighter weight materials and batteries of the hybrids, they just see that they aren’t using as much gas, and that must be better. the energy obviously is magically created. maybe people will start thinking before they talk about those conspiracy theories about how there are infinite power sources but we can’t have them because it will put companies out of business. what?
